How would I invest $1000?

Welcome to my blog: How would I invest $1000.

Have you ever thought about how you would invest $1000?

You know that there are several choices out there, and I will go outside the box to pick a unique choice that you may not have though of.

The CD Choice

I spent some time on Bankrate.com to see the best investment return I could get on a Certificate of Deposit. That means I sign a contract with bank, and they get to keep my money for a period of 1 year, and I agree not to withdrawal it. If I do withdraw it within one year the bank will hit me with a penalty for early withdrawal. The best rate I found is .55%.

The $1000 grows in one year from $1000 to $1005.50. Not much to show for your money.

The Gold Choice

I looked at the investment return for gold as measured in US Dollars. On Gold you would have done better. In dollar terms our gold grew from $1000 USD to $1250, an no penalty for yearly withdrawal. A whopping return over the course of the year amounting to 25%.

The Silver Choice

Silver turned out to be an even better choice it grew 65% over that same year period. so our money as measures in USD would have gone from $1000 to $1650.

Stock & Bond Choices

A couple of other categories that you might want to check out are corporate bonds which grew at 7.36% or even the S&P 500 Stock index as measured by Exchange Traded Fund SPX: 47.36% over the same year time period.

The Final Choice

I am neither dissuading nor persuading you to use any of these investment vehicles. In fact I would not choose any of them because I would rather build an online business and choose to earn more. Please understand that online business would require a different skill set that could be learned and practiced over a period of a year. I used the same $1000 to invest in a set of online skills and more than double the original $1,000.

The skills of the 21st century will involve harnessing digital machines that work tirelessly & effortlessly 24/7. I would like to welcome you to the new frontier of digital marketing where skills like funnel building, email collection, sales psychology, and copyrighting skills will be the professional currency of the day.
